Requirement: It is essential that the successful candidate has a driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.

Part of your role will also include sleep-in shifts at the scheme, where you will be provided with a secluded area that includes a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen facilities.

Salary: FTE £26,072.00 + £51.11allowance for each sleep-in.

 

Where does the role fit in?

Gwynfa is a Temporary Supported Accommodation service supporting individual Males who have experienced homelessness. Referrals are received for the accommodation from the Local authority Housing Team. Individuals may have varying support needs, such as, mental health issues, substance misuse issues, and offending history. You will support the individuals to develop independent living skills to enable them to manage their Temporary accommodation at Gwynfa and prepare them to move onto independent sustainable accommodation.

Our team delivers support to vulnerable individuals and helps them to develop the key skills needed to prevent homelessness, improve financial capability, promote re-settlement into the community and achieve positive progression.  You will play a key part in enabling individuals to achieve their goals and empower them to lead independent lives.

Every day is different and every day you would learn new skills and can work with a variety of agencies such as housing, DWP, social services, Police, and health professionals.

Day to Day Duties:

Your role will be hands on in working collaboratively with the people we support to reach their goals and help them to positively move on into their own tenancy. This is a fun and unique role. You also get to feel the rewards of seeing someone you have supported, positively move on into their own tenancy and achieve their goals.

Your day will consist of:

  • Engaging and interacting with the people we support
  • Writing and following a support plan with the individual you are supporting
  • Delivering workshops relating to tenancy management, health, and wellbeing
  • Liaising with external agencies
  • Supporting with external appointments to GPs and job centres
  • Organising and participating in activities
  • Dealing with any conflict that arises
  • Addressing any additional needs, the people we support might have

 

What are the pay and benefits? 

  • Full-time (37hrs) Permanent position
  • The Full-time salary for this position is £26,072.00 + £51.11 sleep-in allowance  
  • Work pattern:  working based on a rolling rota, providing 24/7 cove. ¼ weekends off.  This role includes Sleep in, you will cover a minimum of 1 per week and no more than 2.
  • Additional sleep-in payment of £51.1.00 for each sleep shift
  • 26 days holiday, pro rata entitlement plus Bank holidays
