What is special about this opportunity?
This is an Outreach project linked to Clarewood Neath that supports young people at risk of homelessness and works with key organisations in the area to identify support required.
The role is varied and involves working with our stakeholders, external organisations and vulnerable young people to provide information, prevent homelessness and develop skills needed to maintain their tenancies, change negative behaviour, maintain their health and wellbeing, progress to independent living and make appropriate decisions.
How can I make a difference?
The role will be varied and involve providing support to external organisations to identify young people at risk and provide information and support to better their lives and make positive choices.
You will:
- Work with people to truly make a difference in their life
- Carry a caseload of clients with a variety of differing needs and levels of need, depending on their situation.
- Provide housing related support to enable clients to take on and/or sustain a tenancy to prevent homelessness.
- To liaise and work closely with other agencies and professionals with regard to clients’ support needs.eg. Social Services, NPT Gateway, Adferiad, NPT College, Wallich, The Haven, Landlords and Lettings Agencies etc.
- Offer appropriate levels of support in a sensitive manner, taking into account the emotional and intellectual needs of the client, respecting their choice and privacy.
Who are we looking for?
To be a great Support Worker Outreach, you don’t always need previous experience or qualifications. A good understanding of housing related support and welfare benefits or awareness of issues faced by people at risk of homelessness would be extremely useful in the role.
You need to be reliable because people are depending on you. You also need to be a great communicator, both verbally and in writing and have basic IT and numerical skills. You will also have great organisational skills to effectively manage your own case load and paperwork. You will spend much of your time out in the community and you will know how to keep yourself safe at all times.

What are the pay and benefits?
- Full-time, Permanent position
- Competitive salary of £24,531.00
- An enhanced DBS is required for this role which we will pay for
- 26 days (pro rata) holiday entitlement plus Bank holidays
