What is the role?
New Road is a unique and vibrant house with 4 adults with varying levels of independence, mental health needs.
Our aim is to empower individuals to develop and maintain essential life skills, enabling them to live with greater independence, confidence, and dignity.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll play a key role in supporting individuals to grow and thrive. Your responsibilities will include:
- Encourage engagement in community services, wellbeing, and leisure activities
- Support access to education, training, and employment at a suitable pace
- Provide trauma-informed, emotionally aware support during distress
- Deliver sensitive suicide prevention and promote recovery-focused safety
- Assist with cooking, household routines, and independent living skills
- Support community participation and attendance at local groups
- Offer companionship and meaningful, wellbeing-focused conversations
- Complete documentation and paperwork accurately and on time
- Help individuals manage finances and budgeting
- Administer medication safely in line with guidelines
- Promote fun, inclusion, and creativity through activities
- Collaborate with the team, sharing ideas and new approaches
- Provide digital (computer-based) administrative support
What skills and experience do you need?
- Experience working with people or customers
- Experience working as part of a team
- Literacy and numeracy skills
- IT skills
Experience working with vulnerable individuals, particularly those with mental health needs or learning disabilities, is desirable but not essential. We provide full training and ongoing development to support your success in the role.

- An hourly rate of £12.75 making the annual salary £24,531 (FTE)
