Area Service Manager - Rhondda Cynon Taf (East) (18 month Fixed Term Contract)

£42,962.00 pa + Essential car user allowance

37 Hours Per Week

 

The opportunity

We have an exciting new opportunity for a leader in our Later Living Extra Care services. We are seeking a talented individual to lead our services in Rhondda Cynon Taf, where we work in partnership with the local authority, operating and developing Extra Care across the county.

We currently operate two Extra Care schemes, Maesyffynnon in Aberdare and Cwrt Yr Orsaf in Pontypridd, but this is only half the story, as RCT is also a key area of development. Our third scheme, Dan Y Mynydd, in Porth is under construction and is due to become fully operational in early 2026, whilst work on our fourth scheme, situated in Mountain Ash, has just commenced.

During this contract, you will be responsible for the continuing successful operation of all aspects of Cwrt Yr Orsaf and Maesyffynnon Extra Care schemes, including oversight of a team of 30 people directly employed in domestic, administrative and catering roles.  

Providing an effective housing management services to residents, managing allocations, addressing safeguarding and antisocial behaviour, providing an excellent catering service and domestic service, close partnership working with local authority and local health board.  

As Area Service Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring residents can maximise their independence and quality of life whilst receiving the appropriate care and support for their needs. You will also be responsible for the management of the building, health & safety, the domestic services team and will take an active role in overseeing the inhouse catering service.

What we need from you

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Strong communication skills to develop positive working relationships with residents, contractors and stakeholders.
  • Good knowledge of housing and/or have experience of working with older people within a Housing or Care environment (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • People Management experience.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
